The Tidewater EMS Council (TEMS) has posted a job vacancy and is reaching out to ensure broad distribution of this announcement. The Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition (EVHC) has posted a job vacancy for a Training and Exercise Coordinator. The Coalition's Training and Exercise Coordinator supports and enhances regional healthcare system emergency preparedness through the execution of training and exercises. Responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a multi-year training and exercise plan. The objective of this plan is to ensure healthcare system readiness during and following disasters involving or impacting the healthcare community. This includes the development of relevant training and educational materials, workshops, drills, and exercises to test emergency operations plans and response capabilities. Exercises will be developed and conducted in compliance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). The Coordinator will be responsible for completing projects and deliverables required by the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA), the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), and the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Grant requirements. The starting salary for this position is $70,000 plus benefits to include health, dental, vision, and disability insurance and a 401K retirement plan. TEMS also offers a flexible work schedule following the first year of employment and recognizes 13 paid holidays. Additionally, there are opportunities to support professional development to include tuition reimbursement and attending program related conferences like the National Healthcare Coalition Preparedness Conference.
