- Session #1: Mindy Seigh, BSN, RN CCTC (SNGH) (9:00-10:30) - "LVAD for EMS" The participants will leave knowing more about how an LVAD works, best practices on how to move and treat patients with an LVAD and will address the most common LVAD issues. Cardiac (BLS 12/ALS 17).
- Session #2: Dr. Dylan Woolum (EVMS Fellow) (10:45- 11:45) - "Dialysis Emergencies" This class will review common presentations, perils and pitfalls when dealing with dialysis emergencies. Medical (BLS 14/ ALS 19)
- Session #3: Travis Karicofe (Sovereign Medical) (13:00-14:00) - "Hemorrhage Control Update" The participants will gain an understanding of the importance of hemorrhage control and new technologies available to assist the hyperacute trauma patient with internal and external hemorrhage. Trauma (BLS 13/ALS 18).
- Session #4: Dr. Tex Ford (14:15-15:45) - "Airway Nightmares" This class will add tips and techniques to an EMS provider's toolbox for managing compromised airways. This training will include a hands-on segment. AOV (BLS 11/ALS 16).
