FW: Autism Response Training
We all have been on that call…. An autistic patient or caregiver in crisis…. We need to have the confidence and knowledge to handle such calls proficiently!
And you can get these skills with the Autism Response Protocol Training Class!
This training provides education, hands-on practice, and learning opportunities from first responders and the autism community on recognizing autism, how to de-escalate people with autism, and resources for improving future response efforts.
It is being offered by the University of Virginia (UVA) as part of a larger research study. It is designed for application across first responders to help enhance cross-agency collaboration and unified support for autistic people in crisis.
The in-person part of this will be held at 1104 Madison Plaza Chesapeake VA 23320 on March 16th 8am - 12pm
