Region 7 Update / Council Designation Recommendation – Update & Appreciation
I’m pleased to share the attached memo from the Virginia Office of EMS, which recommends that Tidewater Emergency Medical Services Inc. (TEMS) be designated as the regional EMS council for Region 7 through June 20, 2028.
To summarize:
“…we are pleased to inform you that your organization has been recommended to be the designated regional emergency medical services council for Region 7.”
This designation means TEMS will continue serving as the managing organization on behalf of the Virginia Office of EMS for the Eastern Region of the Commonwealth — covering agencies from Southampton County to the Eastern Shore, and from the North Carolina line to the Potomac River.
While there are still a few administrative steps to finalize, including continued collaboration with the PEMS Council to ensure smooth integration, this recommendation signals stability and continuity for our region.
The Board of Health will meet on October 2nd to make the final selection. I’ll keep you updated as things progress.
I usually close with “With Thanks,” but today I want to express my genuine appreciation for your ongoing support and dedication. It’s because of your efforts that we’re able to move forward with confidence.
