| -All Sectors Bulletin- DHS Issues National Terrorism Advisory | The National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin, issued on June 22, 2025, and valid until September 22, 2025, highlights a heightened threat environment in the United States due to the ongoing Iran conflict. The bulletin notes that low-level cyberattacks by pro-Iranian hacktivists and potentially Iranian government-affiliated actors are likely to target poorly secured U.S. networks. Additionally, Iran?s ongoing intent to target U.S. government officials linked to the 2020 killing of an Iranian military commander remains a concern. The bulletin warns that a religious ruling from Iranian leadership calling for retaliatory violence could further increase the risk of violent extremist attacks in the U.S., particularly by individuals motivated by anti-Semitic or anti-Israel sentiments, which have already fueled recent homeland terrorist attacks.
The bulletin also points out that foreign terrorist organizations, including HAMAS, Lebanese Hizballah, the Houthis, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, have issued media statements calling for violence against U.S. assets and personnel in the Middle East due to Israel?s actions. This conflict could inspire violent extremists or hate crime perpetrators in the U.S. to target individuals or entities perceived as Jewish, pro-Israel, or affiliated with the U.S. government or military.
