Good afternoon,

This is an update regarding the Level 2 out of 5 (Slight) Risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening. 

WHAT HAS CHANGED: The Level 2 out of 5 (Slight) Risk was expanded northward into Southeast Virginia, including most of the Hampton Roads metro area. 

Key Points: 

  • Scattered to numerous storms develop this afternoon and move southeast through the early evening. 
  • Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats from storms.
  • Timing of storm development is from 1 pm to 8 pm.
