https://form.jotform.com/250694392988072 There will be a Basic Moulage Course offered at PEMS on April 30th and May 1st from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m. The address is: 6876 Main Street Gloucester, Virginia 23061. There is not a charge for the course and students only need to register for one day. There are still slots available for both days!!
This course is an interactive hands-on in which the attendees will learn how to apply makeup and other appliques which indicate various patient conditions such as shock, burns, traumatic injuries (gunshots, cuts, abrasions), etc. Add realism to your training scenarios by learning these basic moulage techniques.
This course is intended for those who teach EMS skills, emergency management personnel who conduct exercises, and hospital personnel who provide training. Class size is limited to 16 students per day. Students who take this course may be called upon to assist with the application moulage to victim/actors for functional exercises or training scenarios.
Healthcare Organizations Emergency Preparedness Seminar (HOEPS) will be on May 13th at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel and May14th at the Holiday Inn Newport News- Hampton from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. All Medically Vulnerable Populations welcome!

The Eastern Virginia Healthcare Organization presents Healthcare Organizations Emergency Preparedness Summit (HOEPS) that is taking place on May 13 at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel and May 14 at the Holiday Inn Newport News - Hampton. This is to make sure that everyone in our region has an equal opportunity to participate in the growth and development of our region, network with other organizations and learn new skills that could benefit your organization.
The topics are going to include: Cybersecurity, Evacuation, Infection Prevention, Workplace Communication and Turnover, and more! The agenda will be sent to those that register.

This workshop provides an interactive forum to better understand the roles and responsibilities of community leaders as related to all-hazard disaster preparedness, to share proven strategies and best practices, and to enhance coordination among whole of community partners.
Participants will be introduced to a basic understanding of planning operational coordination and public information and warning through lecture and group discussions. The participant will have the opportunity to work through a customized tabletop exercise focused on the strategic objectives faced by senior leaders. The final activity of the class is the development of an action plan to improve the preparedness posture of the community/organization.
Please make sure that you are registering for the correct class. The City of Virginia Beach is hosting the exact same class outside of TEMS Expo on May 12-13.

Disaster Preparedness for Healthcare Organizations within the Community Infrastructure brings together individuals from the healthcare community who are responsible for ensuring the resiliency of healthcare services during high consequence or catastrophic events with a jurisdiction. Through a focus of preparedness processes and activities, this course provides an opportunity for participants to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to help them ensure the sustainability of their resources, facilities, and organizations during all types of disasters.
