Subject: NWS Wakefield Briefing - Severe Weather / Strong Winds Wednesday #2

Good morning,
Attached is an updated briefing from National Weather Service Wakefield, VA as of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, highlighting the potential for severe storms and gusty winds Wednesday.
What Has Changed:
- The risk of severe storms has increased to a Level 3 (Enhanced Risk) for southern VA and NC.
Key Points:
- A Level 3 (Enhanced Risk) of severe storms is forecasted for Wednesday afternoon across southeast VA and northeast NC. A Level 2 (Slight Risk) is forecasted for the remainder of the area.
- Timing is from noon to 6 pm Wednesday as a line of showers and severe storms moves from west to east across the area. There could be two lines of storms developing with the initial line posing the more significant threat.
- Threats include damaging winds, a few tornadoes and hail. Winds of 60 to 75 mph or greater are possible. A few strong tornadoes may also be possible.
- Marine Weather - Gale Warnings are in effect Wednesday morning through early Thursday morning for the Chesapeake Bay, all coastal waters, and the lower James River as southerly winds increase with the cold front. A second front crosses the waters Thursday afternoon, with another period of strong Small Craft Advisory-level winds and possible gale force gusts expected Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
