Hello ES EMS Family,
NCEMS is partnering with Rappahannock Community College to offer a 10-week course in Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) to ALL levels of EMS personnel for FREE. Through this course, certified EMS providers will gain skills and training to extend medical care beyond the traditional prehospital emergency services.
The course starts Tuesday, April 16 and will meet every Tuesday from 1800 – 2000 via ZOOM. There will also be asynchronous work assigned each week. The 2 required clinical shifts will be in the Tidewater Region since neither county on the shore currently provide a MIH or Community Paramedicine program. The only prerequisite is the student must already be certified as an EMT, Advanced, Intermediate or Paramedic.
See the attached flyer for more information.
**Funding for this course is provided for Eastern Shore EMS providers by a grant from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy to enhance rural healthcare options.**
Respectfully,
Terri Christman
