Amiodarone vials for TEMS Red Boxes

Subject: Amiodarone vials for TEMS Red Boxes

TEMS has been made aware that one healthcare system pharmacies are currently out of amiodarone 150mg/3mL vials. This doesn't affect many pharmacies currently, but sharing for awareness as you may see TEMS EMS red boxes being stocked with amiodarone 1 x 450mg/9mL vial substituted for 3 x150mg/3mL vials.

Recommendation 
  • Pharmacies unable to restock the typical amiodarone 150mg/3mL vials may substitute for one amiodarone 450mg/9mL vial. 
  • As soon as the issue is resolved, pharmacy will resume normal stocking
