The Tidewater EMS Council (TEMS) has posted a job vacancy and is reaching out to ensure broad distribution of this announcement. TEMS is seeking candidates for a Regional Healthcare Coordinator to lead the Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition (EVHC). Specifically, TEMS is looking for a candidate with proven leadership skills to lead a community of diverse stakeholders to include: emergency management, EMS, public health, hospitals, long-term care, dialysis, hospice and others. The preferred candidate will demonstrate innovative and creative skills necessary to lead change in emergency preparedness and response systems and problem-solving. The Program Coordinator is responsible to the Executive Director and will assist the Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition (EVHC), the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA) Emergency Preparedness Director and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) State Hospital Coordinator with efforts to improve the regional and statewide healthcare emergency preparedness and response systems. The Program Coordinator will carry out the tasks identified in the Emergency Services Agreement between the Tidewater EMS Council and VHHA. The position is funded by an annual contract between the Council and the VHHA so continuation of the position is subject to availability of such funds. The starting salary for this position is $80,000 plus benefits to include health, dental, vision, disability insurance, and a 401K retirement plan. TEMS also offers a flexible work schedule following the first year of employment and recognizes 13 paid holidays. Additionally, there are opportunities to support professional development to include tuition reimbursement and attending program related conferences like the National Healthcare Coalition Preparedness Conference.
