Subject: Part-time EMS Instructor Position- Starting Aug 2023

Bridging Communities Regional Career & Technical Center and Governor's STEM Academy is excited to announce we are adding an EMS program for 11th and 12th grade students for the 2023-2024 school year! A few quick facts about the position:

- The school is located in New Kent, Va at 7930 New Chipping Lane

- Start date is August 9th

- It is a part time salaried position with hours being 7:30am-11:15am Monday through Friday

- It will be a K-12 teaching contract, which basically means this person will work the same days the kids are in school plus about 10-15 additional days a year with summers and holidays off 

- This position should not interfere with VRS benefits for a retiree

Bridging Communities is a regional school serving the 11th and 12th grade students from Charles City, New Kent, West Point, Middlesex, King William, and King & Queen Central High Schools. Other programs we offer are Diesel Technology, Small Engine and Marine Systems, HVAC, Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Tech, Culinary Arts, and Coding & Advanced Programming. Current enrollment is about 165 students. All students have to apply, qualify, and be accepted to our programs. Specifically, EMS will be a Dual Enrollment program with Rappahannock Community College, so in addition to high school credit, all students will earn college credit and a Career Studies Certificate. Credentials earned through the course will be EMT-B, CPR, and eligibility for the National Registry. We hope to have up to 20 students in the course and New Kent Fire & Rescue has agreed to support this role with additional personnel to meet skills training ratios and requirements.
