WVEMS – RU Paramedic Program – Roanoke
Western Virginia EMS Council in conjunction with Radford University at Carilion will hold an EMT to Paramedic Course in Roanoke. The course will run June 18, 2025 - May 8, 2026. Class meets in person on Fridays with the occasional Thursday. There will be a significant amount of independent, online work assigned weekly. The application can be found in this email as well as on our website.
Spring 2025 RSAF Cycle Open
The Virginia Office of EMS has announced that the Spring 2025 cycle of the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund is open and accepting applications. Deadline for RSAF Grant Submission is March 17, 2025, at 5pm. WVEMS encourages regional review of any RSAF Grant prior to submission.

WVEMS and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital CE Day – Save the Date
Western Virginia EMS Council and Carilion Clinic Franklin Memorial Hospital will host a CE Day. It will be held in Rocky Mount at the Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital MOB on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Registration information will be made available soon.
American Heart Association – Training Site
WVEMS has been an American Heart Association Training Site for three years. We can offer courses available by the American Heart Association. Please contact Daryll Perry with any questions about AHA!
