Nominations Open: 2026 Region 7 EMS Awards — Deadline October 31
Colleagues,
The Tidewater EMS Council is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Regional EMS Awards. Nominations are open through Friday, October 31, 2026.
These awards exist to recognize the people and agencies across our 26 jurisdictions whose work too often goes unacknowledged — the provider who keeps showing up, the educator who built your training program, the telecommunicator who talked a caller through the worst day of their life. If someone in your organization comes to mind, please take a few minutes to put their name forward.
Ten categories are available:
• Excellence in EMS
• Outstanding EMS Leadership
• Outstanding EMS Agency
• Outstanding Contribution to EMS for Children
• Outstanding Prehospital Educator
• Outstanding EMS Prehospital Provider
• Outstanding EMS Tele-communicator
• Physician with Outstanding Contribution to EMS
• Lifetime Achievement in EMS
• EMS Scholarship
HOW TO SUBMIT
All nominations are submitted online at:
https://www.tidewaterems.org/forms/award-nominations
Select your category from the drop-down menu. Each category displays its own criteria and eligibility requirements, along with a set of category-specific questions.
BEFORE YOU START, HAVE THESE READY
• Nominee name, agency, and contact information
• Your name and contact information as the nominator
• Your responses to the category-specific questions
• A high-resolution photo of the nominee
• Supporting documentation — letters of support, articles, commendations
A strong nomination is specific. Concrete examples and a well-written letter of support carry far more weight than general praise, so give yourself enough time to do it well rather than submitting on October 31.
There is no limit on the number of nominations you may submit, and I would encourage you to look beyond the obvious candidates. A flyer is attached — please post it and share it widely with your personnel.
