Good afternoon, Ms. Cook.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon.
As I mentioned, the Chesapeake Health Department hosts The Friday Farmers Market from 10:00 – 2:00 weekly from May through Halloween. The market is located at 70 Knells Rodge Blvd., one block north of Battlefield Blvd., across from the new VA Outpatient Clinic. Please see the flyer attached.
The market sports up to 20 vendors and two food trucks weekly, including local produce, eggs, honey, farm raised poultry and meats, bread, baked goods… all the things. Tomorrow we even have a baby goat petting zoo.
Tomorrow is also EMS Recognition Day. In honor of our local EMS heroes, any EMS responder who attends the market will receive a FREE Hampton Roads Ready canvas backpack and free Prep Kit, while supplies last. It’s a little gesture for those who do a lot for our community.
For future reference, we also sponsor a Community Outreach Booth where local community partners, nonprofits, and organizations can highlight their services to the public. There in no cost to vend. Just let me know when you wish to come and we will get it on the schedule.
