Changes at Sentara Leigh related to EMS restocking:

Our main supply room recently underwent a facelift, and as part of the changes, EMS supplies are now located at the EMS entrance when entering our department.   Here's what you need to know:

  • Supply Location: There is a large shelf containing most essential supplies, along with two green IV carts stocked with sharps, such as IV catheters, blunt tips, and other similar items.
  • IV Cart Access: The passcode to access the carts is "1111" followed by hitting the enter button.
  • Updated Supply Arrangement: While the update to our main supply room will take about another week or so to complete, EMS supplies will remain in this new location for the foreseeable future.
  • Supply Guidelines: We kindly ask that crews take only what is truly needed to help ensure availability for everyone.

Items Not Stocked at the EMS Shelf:  (located in main supply room)

  • ET tubes
  • Stylettes
  • BVMs
  • I-Gels
  • IO needles
  • Defib/pacer pads
  • EtCO2

If any of these items or others run out in the EMS supply area, crews can retrieve what they need from the main supply room.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we transition to a new PAR system for supply management. Please share this information with the appropriate EMS agencies that come to Leigh. Your help in getting the word out is much appreciated!

I have also printed out signs in our department to alert arriving crews of these changes.  Thanks for your support, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best, Ryan McCorry
