Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services (VB Rescue – EMS) is accepting applications for Paramedic/Intermediate openings. These openings are full-time positions and applicants should expect to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Full-time Paramedics/Intermediates provide operational support in the field to the broader VB Rescue system, which includes Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services, the volunteer rescue squads of Virginia Beach and the Marine Rescue Team. Our Paramedics/Intermediates provide direct patient care, staffing ambulances and other response vehicles.

Minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalency, three or more years of experience as a patient care provider and a current Virginia or National Registry Paramedic or Intermediate certification. Applicants must also be and remain eligible to function as an emergency medical vehicle operator in accordance with the Virginia Department of Health. Tobacco use is prohibited on and off the job and applicants must also have a current and valid driver’s license.
