Good afternoon,

Attached is an updated briefing from National Weather Service Wakefield, VA as of 4:30 PM on 3/30/2025, highlighting the potential for severe storms Monday afternoon into Monday night.

Key Points: 

  • An Enhanced Risk (level 3 out of 5) of severe thunderstorms is in place across much of the area for Monday. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Monday afternoon into Monday night.
  • Damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, hail, and isolated tornadoes are possible. The highest tornado threat is in areas south and west of the Chesapeake Bay.
  • Breezy conditions continue today and into Monday. Wind gusts up to 25 mph are expected today, continuing into Monday evening outside of any thunderstorms.
  • Marine Weather - Small Craft Advisories are likely to be needed for strong marine winds through Tuesday. Occasional gusts up to 30 kt are possible late tonight through early Tuesday, with locally higher gusts possible within storms late Monday afternoon into Monday night. Waves up to 5-7 ft on the coastal waters and up to 4 ft on the Bay.
