PEMS MOULAGE CLASS 

There will be a Basic Moulage Course offered at PEMS on February 19th or February 20th, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00p.m. There is not a charge for the course and students only need to register for one day. 

 

This course is an interactive hands-on course in which the attendees will learn how to apply makeup and other appliques which indicate various patient conditions such as shock, burns, traumatic injuries (gunshots, cuts, abrasions), etc. Add realism to your training scenarios by learning these basic moulage techniques.

 

This course is intended for those who teach EMS skills, emergency management personnel who conduct exercises, and hospital personnel who provide training.  Class size is limited to 16 students per day. Students who take this course may be called upon to assist with the application moulage to victim/actors for functional exercises or training scenarios.

PAPR Training 

This training is to give everyone in the region an opportunity to learn Sentinel XL PAPRs from ILC Dover. This training is open to everyone. This will be held on March 11th at Bon Secour's Maryview Medical Center from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. for the Southside and on the Peninsula, you can go to Riverside Regional Medical Center is hosting there training at the Warwick Center from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.

MGT-319 TEEX CLASS- MEDICAL COUNTERMEASURES: POINT OF DISPENSING (POD), PLANNING, AND RESPONSE


The course is on April 8-9 at Portsmouth Social Services Bld 1701 High Street, Portsmouth Virginia 23704. It will be from 8-5, please arrive on time.  There will be CE credits given to nurses, physicians and EMS. Class size is limited to 30 students. 


This training course is to enhance jurisdiction preparedness and emergency response efforts by providing the knowledge of how to exercise and revise a plan that utilizes an all-hazards, whole community approach toward a medical countermeasures event. Assists with coordination of planning, training and responding to a Medical Countermeasure (MCM) response for a public health incident.

HERT Course

This course will be offered on April 1st - 3rd from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. It will be at Sentara Brock Cancer Center 6251 E Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA 23502. This course is limited to 20 students. 


The Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) course addresses health care response at the operations level for the facility and its personnel. This three-day course prepares health care responders to utilize the Hospital Incident Command System — integrating into the community emergency response network while operating an Emergency Treatment Area as hospital first responders during a mass casualty incident involving patient contamination.
